Dark Whimsy
Midnight and the whispers begin
I feel it deep underneath my skin.
Itching, creeping,crawling free,
Oh what does tonight have in store for me?
Up from the furthest reaches of Hell
My demon comes and breaks the spell.
He hath no fury, only glee
As he rings around the Xmas tree.
Fire, smoke and acid spit,
I hope nobody wanted that gift.
Craggy fingers reach and snag,
Pine scent reeling...I might gag
On the tinsel being shoved down my throat
By this monster with the hooves of a goat.
Feeling fine as we separate,
A tearing sound right from my pate.
Running free I almost make it,
Curiosity blinds me, hell, I'll take it.
Evil feelings dark and deep
No longer only in my sleep.
I've risen from the dead you see
And the demon outside is no match for me.
A war of words in ancient tongues
My crown I wear as I climb the rungs.
All dressed up but bare and naked
The fear you feel shows you can't fake it.
Let me bleed your soul tonight,
The morning still brings light.
You won't recognize your mirrored self,
I've left your heart upon the shelf
In my cupboard bare beneath the bed
Where the monsters dwell outside my head.
Midnight and the whispers begin,
As the bell tolls it wriggles in.
Foul and fanged, with sharpened claw,
It yawns and opens wide it's maw.
Retreat you scream inside your head,
But you're frozen to your unmade bed.
Frightened? Well you should be friend
The emperor's come, now it's your end.
Scary sweeter
For the eater
Of your singed and sinning soul.
Crunching, tallow covered bone,
You won't wake up, no not alone.
The demon festers in you now too
You'll savor the taste of evil's brew.
So watch out, warn those near and dear...
Or not, you might feast upon their fear.
Garland grabbing, stocking wearing
Festering free and killing the tree.
Xmas morning comes too late
I fear I've opened up the gate.
But have no care - the day will pass
I'll see you at the midnight mass.
Midnight and the whispers begin
Can you hear me? Listen, listen....
