Waterfall Weeps
Coral posies of the deep
blossom under the sea
burnished by full moon
in backyard of stars.
Infinite tints touching tides,
feathers of light dance
through shiny jewel arms.
Ocean strikes his fist,
churning and upturning
green riptide waves
arousing cerulean blanket,
soiling sacred soil
of coral treasures of sea.
White stallions of waves
pound against reefs,
thunder hooves striking.
Waves rush to shore
frothing at mouth,
tangled in seaweed
in tightly coiled tides.
Salt sprayed topaz days
and amethyst nights
break off pieces
of alabaster breasts
of blushing coral.
Human marauders
destroy life’s work
of millions of
tiny sea creatures
forming polyp mats
under the sea,
taking home souvenirs
in seduction and
destruction of reefs.
