Challenge
Tell me something about spiders. Avoiding the fear that accompanies them, share something interesting, humorous, absurd. What creative skills do you harbor that communicate something unique?
Encapsulated
You drew me in
by intoxicating lies,
entangled in your web
of wicked lives, crawling
out of cold cement as
silvery threads of words
swallowed and picked
pain out of my teeth
with jagged toothpicks.
Blackened blood flowed
from spidered squadrons
of masked disguise
you hide behind.
You swiped me away
leaving empty frame,
spun the web tightly,
fangs piercing my veins -
twisted tortured guts
deep within belly.
You hover on
still water’s sheath.
Broken bits of moon
pierce my surface
as I’m deceived by
your lace net cradle,
prostate on your shrine.
I surrender, kissed
by wandering souls
of the damned –
a faded out tomorrow.
As you swoop
like bird of prey,
my fragile threads
U N R A V E L
stomping out
dark futility of
encapsulated life.
