Challenge
She found a lighter and set a puddle on fire. The world burns.
Untouched
She seesaws on the edge of madness
as candle wax puddles, life ebbing away.
Deepened shadows cauterize her soul
as insanity cowers and hides within,
finds a lighter, ignites the wax, dripping.
The world scorches around her in frenzy,
burning desire, sparks catching her soul.
Tears catapult from fiery eyes in wafts,
ashes painting her body a dusky gray.
Melting images entwine in cobalt darkness,
smoldering flames ignite heart’s existence,
Incinerated spirits fly into hot butterscotch sun.
She walks through the flames untouched
seducing me with torched, wicked desire –
an arsonist flaming my heart as oozing puddle
of wax sears the world’s scorched earth.
