It’s Happening
I know, I know, it's happening...
But what's the time and place?
You must have some directions
Or a map that I can trace,
But I can tell you haven't
By that look upon your face,
So I'm just going to take a little nap.
I know, I know, it's happening,
But how much does it cost?
I'm down to my last twenty
Since my wallet wound up lost.
But in a couple minutes here
My windshield will defrost,
So trust me, I will meet you in a few.
I know, I know, it's happening,
But just another snooze
Should get me through the aftermath
Of last night's smoke and booze,
And if I'm late, who cares?
The only thing that I will lose
Is waiting with some people in some line.
Although I know it's happening
It might not be for me,
So maybe I should ponder more
And have a cup of tea,
And if I later feel a burning
Longing to be free,
Then maybe I'll just think of something else.
