Soil & Silk
I helplessly watched as you
crawled into the shell that scrutiny built.
Selfishly excluding yourself,
slowly suffocating, immersed in the
deceptions you chose.
Carelessly inviting your doom
in by the front door.
I wanted so badly to warn you
that the departure wouldn't be so kind.
Silently, solace became the only
friend you claimed.
While unabashedly respecting the undeserving,
You baptized yourself in the sins of another,
Then drowned while trying to save
A lost soul.
I tell myself your crystal coffin
brought you comfort,
that you can rest now in darkness.
Breath easy, there are no sights left
to even behold.
Somehow you still seem so pensive.
Forever marked by the cries of her sadness.
Stained and soiled by all indiscretions.
She'll never regard you her
hero or savior,
She'll only push you to
remember your fall.
