Flames of Desire

Feel the flicking flames

Crossed between desire

Lost is the nicking touch

Of a fool on fire

Drenched to the flesh of bone

Ripped by blood that perspires

Tripped by a mesh of char

I wrote this playing with rhyming sequences.  I am a pattern person and find it helps my OCD haha.  So the rough pattern I used is below.  I did not want to rhyme every word at the end of line, and I wanted a way to still get that flowing rhyme sequence going.  Instead, I created a pattern of rhyming pairs scattered through an 8 line verse.  The letters correspond to a matching rhyme and the dots just indicate where it is roughly in the line.  Feel free to test it out:
