Judas in Redux
You showed up smelling like
grasslands and deep pine.
You moved beneath my hands
like beach sand and good times.
You told me I was grand
like no plans and fast rhymes.
I felt like I was clever
like no hands the first try.
We were to one another like
corkscrews and bread ties.
It felt like we were close
like sunset and sunrise.
And you'd never leave me
Ever,
like strong bonds
and blood ties.
But you walked across my land
like white man, on first sight.
Gathering what you can,
like, “who cares, now it's mine!”
And that's how it happened.
I wish that it hadn't.
But we're just organic
emotional, tragic.
Not even original,
hardly surprising .
If this was a movie
I'd be rolling my eyes like,
--ettu Brute?
Sumimasen, namaste!
And this is the cincher:
It ends like a scripture,
not painted, no picture
of how much I miss her.
