The âFâ Word
I want to write about the constant issues with the social media and how they portray men and women in the form of a poem.
But there is nothing poetic about it.
Women are used constantly for the attention of men in ads and commercials in a sexual manner, and it is seen as appropriate.
If a woman were to express her sexuality to men in public, she is seen as degrading and disrespecting herself. The terms "slut" and "whore" get thrown around when women so much as show men special attention.
Men have the freedom to be as sexual as they want with women and not have these degrading terms titling them.
They are taught that they cannot be sensitive like women or feminine like women. The idea of a man so much as being "feminine" is seen as an insult or offensive to those who are not women.
This idea restricts the freedoms of both sexes and causes a boundary between them, thus making them unequal. We are more concerned about being different than one another than seeing the similarities and uniting as one.
You would be quick to label this as "feminism." But feminism is just another form of equality.
