Row row row...
Princes of the Fields
Windswept rows of dandelions
towheaded lads taming the wind
flourishing within tall fences
row after row after row
dandelion boys pretending
they’re princes of the fields
growing wild inside dreams
untamed and scattered
in breezes, faces of sunshine
static light and air abounding
yellow buttons pushing earth
rooted on grass doorsteps
overgrown in skin of spring
puffed away in breaths of air
dimples exhaling spores
fragile shooting stars of day.
