Explore the concept of Time in a poem
A Timeless Waltz
Time is spinning farther and farther away
The clock glares as we tremble and shrink
Seconds into hours into days
Our skin will bleed ink
Try to hide in the spaces
Betwixt eleven and twelve, one and two
Futile attempts to escape the cold embrace
Paint our faces black and blue
And time is running out
Clock hands spinning in a forever dance
Like a girl in a skirt twisting about
Falling in love at a glance
Rain will fall at noon
And tonight the skies will run clear
The children come by the light of the moon
But there’s blood on their faces, and we’re cowering in fear
Bones shatter and crack, bruises mar imperfect skin
Look away from the clock’s forever sneer
We’ll dance a waltz with time till the end
