Black Bloods
The moment you're born you have a clean slate, you're perfect, no mistakes, no accidents, no crimes broken, no lies, no secrets, nothing, you're an angel. The moment you leave your mother's womb you have nothing counted against you, no responsibilities, no problems, nobody holds you to anything, all you have to do is live. You have white blood and not a care in the world, but when you turn 13...for each crime you break, everytime you lie your blood gets darker...There are different shades, each one puts you in levels of the city, the whiter your blood the more richer and well-protected parts of the city you live in, better food, more water, servants to do everything for you, giant houses, the best jobs, you get everything. The darker your blood is you move down and down the scale of class and royalty, less food, poor water, you have to fend for yourself, low-paying jobs, you're poor or living on the streets. There is no way to redeem yourself unless you have been forgiven by Asif, the goddess of forgiveness, Amias, the God of good hearts, and Ramiro, the God of Judgment. Ramiro is the supreme judge, making all of the final decisions in your judgement, he his cruel and ruthless, unlike Amias and Asif who are very kind and are more than willing to show mercy to those with dirty blood, Ramiro is the most powerful as well, even if the two others disagree he can easily throw them aside and forever decide your fate. But, there are those who cannot be redeemed and are left to be forgotten in the cold lands outside of the city border, they have done far too many cruel things in the world and they are known as...black bloods. They have been called savages, some of them are, they have been broken down and left to fight for their survival and rights in the frigid lands outside of the warm oasis, their blood is as black as ink, dark, thick with sin, horrible things they've done, cold as the ice in which they live in. When you're born outside of the haven you cannot get in, even with white blood, once you're beyond the border you may not get back in, it's illegal.
The city of Eder, its name coming from the word "beauty" in Basque, beauty being an understatement as the Gods shaped it out of pure gold and silver, held together by the strongest of their magic creating one of the most magnificent places for the humans to live. Unfortunately, not everyone could live with such royal pleasures and the Gods had to make a system, a class chart, a way to set people together so certain parts of the city wouldn't become over run and so they were able to keep control over the mortals. As a result, they made up white bloods and began the process of organization, only those with white running through their veins may live in quality and those with darker blood were not allowed such pleasures, as people were separated and places becoming more crowded, the West and South levels became known as the dirty bloods city and the North and East levels were meant for the spic and span. In the North and East stood giant, spiraling skyscrapers that loomed and covered everything in a shadow, light shining off the clean glass and reflecting everything through it. The towers were encrusted with gold and silver in forms of vines and flowers, on the far side of the North rested the biggest of towers, the base of the city, a place for the cleanest of bloods and looked almost like a palace. At the entrance of it sat 8 large quartz statues the first four were some of the immortals before the great war as only three still remained alive which sat on high pedestals on command of Ramiro, the tower itself was made and shaped by the original powerful beings as most of it was made of glass and the edges of it were curved and decorated with strong gold and silver beams which twisted and stretched upwards till it reached a sharp point, at this point ejected a powerful blue and orange light which could be seen from everywhere, even outside of the border. Circling it was a prodigious garden filled with bushes, cherry blossoms that stayed a bloom all year, sulking willow trees, lavender, deer, birds of all colors, and white cement paths to get yourself around the beautiful haven. In the center of the garden was a large quartz fountain that was wrapped in silver and gold flowers and vines, they moved with the wind and were slowly slithering around the cracked column in an unearthly manner, screwed into the column were four elephant heads made out of gleaming gold as their trunks curved up and crystal clear water spilled out into the base of the quatrefoil base below. Lining the garden were tall hedges thriving with ivory roses and blush summer sweets, lively butterflies and birds roofed the sky above the garden as the deer pranced around with each other, making small homes in the hedges and under the trees. The inside was even more spectacular as it harbored the purest of bloods and the entire banking and governing systems of Eder, as you first enter the clear pivot doors you are welcomed with a wonderful front desk which circled around a towering, gold, gleaming beam as it shot upwards and straight up to the roof, every couple of minutes it would open up to reveal a glass pipe system which shot down blue and orange tubes of light that then morphed into papers of all sorts, the women controlling the desk would press a simple button and the computer would organize it and shoot down below the ground to the delivery workers. if you looked up you would notice that it was all cylindrical and a straight trip up until you reached the eighth floor which was roofed by a quartz ceiling with a bright chandelier. The first eight floors of the building were held for the offices of the bankers and workers-most on the lower four levels as they were less than those above of them-all of them connected by a glass elevator and two gilt curved stairs on either side, when you get to the ninth floor it was protected by sixty Eder guards as it went down the hallway, twenty hulking volts filled to the brim with tevnar, the new currency in this world, gold, silver, copper, melted into hexagons and imprinted with ancient markings of the Gods and their languages. There are ten more floors like this, all protected by guards with heavy plated armour and large blasters that hung down on their shoulders by a strap. At the end of the red, carpeted hallway was another curved staircase which led up to the remaining floors above. On the 20th floor were the living quarters, twenty-six rooms on each side of the grand hallway holding the royal councilors of the city and their families, each room decorated with expensive paintings and furnishings, windows along the back walls that looked down upon the rest of the city. The floor above that was the royal councillors congress room, it was one of the larger rooms of the tower as its domical floors were made out of gold that went down at an incline and shaped into steep steps as blimp, metal plates hovered ten feet above around the center where an immense orb of the similar electric blue and simmering orange melted together in a hissing mess. The last ten floors above held a mystery as none of the public and most of the royal council didn’t know what lied above and they weren't allowed as only the God's right hand was allowed, his name was Jeroen Aris, a father and the immortals close human counterpart.
The tower of Eder was a monument in the North and East but on the other side it was hated and despised more than anything. The South and West, dirty blood city, here it was filled with those who have sinned, always crowded, dark, polluted, nothing beautiful had ever grown here, the only animals here were crows and vultures looking to pick of the elder and children who were sick and dying, rodents scattered up and down the streets and sewers, sickness traveled fast and with no proper medical supplies and no one willing to help them it doesn’t take long for someone to die as death hovers above their beds and takes pity on the wilting mortals and all of their despair. Rundown apartments and towers that were once a glorious gold and silver had turned sick and crumbled and were poisoned with rotten vines that slithered and broke the foundation, many had made homes out in alleyways and building tops out of scraps of medal or tents from the scrap yard the laid in a foul heap at the very edge of the border in the South. In the center of it all was a shopping center filled with fruit carts and bread, most of it going bad as flys decided their next meal and buzzed in a mass swarm over it, clothes made out of torn cloth and scarfs were hung up in cars as well along with knitted sweaters and items made by the only remaining elder there and mothers trying to make a living for their children. Small trinkets from were sold as well by engineers and homeless men looking for a chance to get money or anything to help them survive in a place where the Gods left them to fend for themselves, though even with death constantly watching and the disease that haunted this place people managed to make lives here, some of them using their resources and talents to make proper shops, restaurants, and hospitals that brought warmth to them all. Even in this tragedy they managed to find hope and hang onto each other for support, sadly...people on the other side became fearful of the possibility of sickness coming into their perfect lives as a result the government put up an overblown barrier in between them to keep the clean and the dirty separated, so they wouldn’t become infected as well. None of the dirty bloods understood this, weren’t they supposed to be kind? Weren’t they supposed to help those in need? They did have white blood.
Black bloods were not allowed to be spoken of, people say you’ll be cursed as well and thrown out of the magical barrier that keeps the frigid earth away from themselves, dirty or clean. Black bloods were thrown out into the old earth where the Gods did not care for, a place made of ice and snow, barely any life here as no known plants have grown here ,the only animals were monterious beast which hunted for them in the blizzards. The humans had to make their own weapons and clothing from basically nothing as they lived in small borrows or carved out caves in the mountains, different groups lived in separate parts of this ice world-all of them fighting each other for materials and survival and wars breaking out as the all tried. At a time they had all made a system of peace on their own but when differences began to arise it caused panic and havoc as a murder spree broke out.
The city of Eder, beauty being an understatement, white bloods, dirty bloods, black bloods, death, monsters, betrayal, lies, sickness...a place built by the hands of Gods and Goddesses, a place where blood will spilled.
