The Illusion of Grandeur

 

I'd like to say that I see a whole new entity of my own design... populated with the most complex of characters ever seen, in a setting of hither to unknown dimension, & varied natural formation; cityscapes that beguile & intrigue just in their very own description...

But that's not it. I close my eyes and see... as if an empty auditorium... with some dark silent proscenium... A shady atmosphere of baited-breath-anticipation, & my own growing corner-to-corner apprehension... what is to appear? There is nothing here.

Then suddenly... rapidly approaching distant footsteps... anxious whispers... something behind the scenes. A heavy curtain of responsibility... suggesting this very next moment...

is entirely up to me
