I’m too afraid to say

It boosts my creativity

It drowns out

The sound of my cries

It makes the tears go away

But sometimes,

It causes them

Music makes us feel so much

It connects us

It is our world

It is our lives

We may not realize it

But it brings beauty

To our ugly world

It sheds light

On what is really going on

It allows people to have a voice

When they would otherwise be

Ignored

It is my escape

It is what I do

When nothing good is happening

When I’m bored out of my mind

I can play my heart out on my drums

I can play my flute until I have no air left

I can play my piano until I run out of sheet music

I can put on my headphones and drown out the world

It’s so diverse

Just like us

There is no one-size-fits-all with music

Everyone’s taste is a little different

And in some cases,

We will defend our own music tastes

Until people are tired of arguing with us

It becomes such a big part of us

It becomes us

Our lives would be meaningless otherwise
