Underneath it All
You've got me "all figured out,"
Think you know what I'm about.
All your accusations leave a mark
On my very human heart.
You think I've got no feelings
But the tears I cry revealing
That I'm real through and through,
Just the same as any of you.
And you point out in me
All the things you "hate to see,"
That you have buried inside
Can't admit in you reside.
Just because we're different
Doesn't mean we be indifferent;
And when we don't get along,
That doesn't make us strong.
None of us are perfect,
Life has caused us all to wreck;
But I'm only human, too,
Take my hand, I'll walk with you.
