Challenge
Challenge of the Week LXXIV
This week, we tackle a poetic classic, the sonnet. Your sonnet can be Petrarchan, Shakespearean, or if you're particularly brave, you can try your hand at some other avant-garde variation. We recommend you read a few sonnets before attempting your own. We'll be looking for sophistication, originality, and beauty.
My first poem...FOR YOU.
I love the freezing, winter cold,
The blankets of white, powd'ry snow,
The biting breeze that ne'er gets old,
The snowmen who begin to grow,
When, come time, for seasons end,
I cry and hide from Summer's shine,
my heart, my soul, do slowly mend,
my deep woe melts into a whine,
Then comes fall, with autumn's breeze,
a mass improvement from the heat,
the leaves begin to shed from trees,
approaches now, my Winter sweet,
The clouds roll in,
the storms begin.
___
I hope y'all like it.
