Challenge
Write a poem about your earliest memory. How old were you? What were you doing? What was your vision of the world?
Beginning
A Tennessee day, begat with my awakening
young in age, perhaps 2, if my opinion we’re taking
A run, as my feet and legs were made sturdy
to run to the room where clothes were transported when dirty
Jumping to remove myself from the strength of earth’s natural pull
The reason: A jar sat atop the clothes cleaner, and stomach not full
My voice made noise to indicate that I had a need
My mother arrived and to my request, she gave heed.
My view on the world had only begun
food for hunger, play for fun
not much else to say for this
twas what twas, tis what tis.
