Relativity

Everyone wants to be important,

To feel their meaning,

To know their worth.

We pray to greater beings,

We talk with other humans,

Trying to make a mark,

To make a difference,

To be remembered.

What are we,

Little creatures,

In the grand scheme of things?

How do we know

That there is meaning to our lives?

What if we ask

The earth we live on.

What is our purpose?

Why have we been created,

Why are we loved?

The earth wouldn't answer.

We are just another creature

Walking upon her surface.

Why should she care?

Why should we feel

The burning desire,

To matter?
