Challenge
Challenge of the Week XCVI
Goosebumps. It's that time of year. The genre is horror. Write something scary, something spooky, something that sends chills down the spine, causes goosebumps to prickle your reader's skin. There's a catch. This week you will write the first part of a two-part piece. Next week you'll finish the story you started. This week we're looking for a great start to the story. Next week we'll be looking for a strong finish. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.
Creeped
The creepy door;
The creepy gate;
The creepy sound
that makes you wait;
If you're reading this,
it's already too late.
The creepy portrait placed
creepily from bottom to top;
The creepy prop most definitely doesn't
look like a creepy prop;
If you're reading this,
well, you've got to stop.
You're reading on (!)
I know as a fact.
In my creepiness,
have I lacked?
I used the word 'creepy'
exactly eight times.
I made sure
every paragraph rhymes!
Well, hopefully something else
will scare you hard.
(Here's a hint:
It's not my report card.)
