Kneeling Pain
I stand before you bare
vulnerable
defenses down
years of suppression, resentment,
hurt, pain, anger and bitterness
diluted
barriers which allowed
all negativity to be stored
just as wrongful tokens
in a sealed tight, cemented jar
has been busted
without flinching
wanting not to be fearful
of temporary changes
changes
which seems to always revert
I kneel before you
calloused heart ripped out
carefully placed in my hands
ready to lay at your feet
as I want to see you
pick it up
breathe healing into it
kiss every scar
in which you placed upon it
I have sought my own healing
as I know that can never fully
come from you, but
I just have to see
have to know
that you are ready to fully
nurture, love, and respect
the depths of selfless beauty
which exists
knees are balanced
upon the fine line
of love and hate
upon the fine line
of past and future
upon the fine line
of forgiveness and pain
upon the fine line
of walls and freedom
upon the fine line of
victim and victor
upon the fine line
of self and selfless
a line in which I can no
longer walk, and balance alone
I'm here
I kneel before you
bare
as chains fall to my feet
chains in which
continuously bound
love and liberty
I'm here
please...
don't use them
again
as your very own weapon
against me
