Disenchantment.
The clamor of society knows it's greatest of disappointments in buildings constructed in the hopes of molding the minds of the individuals that inhabit it, days upon days, and years to look back only in rear-view. Here you will see a system of classes exist among even the youngest of minds and hearts , some subservient, some dominant, some exceptionally bright, and some with struggles in many areas. Reputations are constructed and massacred in a manner of minutes and the mentality that "Kids will be kids," is a truly trying concept, given the amount of retaliation seen in many videos and news depictions. Here though, the greatest of assets exist and in many more ways than the students are tested a typical example is that even within a union body a teacher stands to earn a wage that has got to be laughable in regards to the body of work they're piling on, then there's the fact that they are encouraged to treat this environment as a social gathering attending functions and extracurricular activities to help further solidify their understudies growth. Imagine if you could the following...
You awaken early to ensure that you are able to get adequately presentable to speak to younger individuals for an entire day that could range from 4 hours to 10 or greater, you enter a building to see dilapidated and dulled tile-work or your yellow brick road to your classroom, you embrace a group of peers in your chosen field of teaching to determine what is good and can be improved in your syllabus and learning plan. Imagine further still that you have an administration that judges your performance based on how your students score on testing and can not adequately reward you for their successes in life. Are you starting to feel like maybe the idea is truly noble, but the system is crashing it's worth? Then on top of this, you will have individuals who don't want to learn what you want to impart but do have to take X amount of credits and this is a way to get there. Think about the scrutiny too, of having a social life as a teacher : School's will not have someone who is known to enjoy drink with their peers, because they will have a reputation and parents will believe that the behavior is encouraging to their young developing mind. It's almost interesting how you would have to learn to present a minimal side of your character and yet still appeal to the subjects studying your subject. As a teacher you would wonder what level of sacrifice you must make in order to ensure the success of those who very well don't appreciate what you do. The truth is the breaking point is probably more prevalent in this field than in many others just because, if you give the truth of what this entails, Atlas wouldn't shrug, he'd be crushed.
