Blindsided: Charles Sidi on Vision
If you lose your money, you've lost nothing,
Money comes and money goes,
If you lose your health, you've lost half,
You are not the person you were before,
But if you lose your resolve, you've lost it all.
“Charles, Charles…” my wife says to me from outside my office “we are leaving in five minutes, okay?” I try to ignore her as I type this blog on my computer. “Charles, we are leaving soon. Okay?” she repeats, a little more frustrated.
This time I have to respond.
"Yes, okay, no problem, just have to finish this blog.”
Two years ago I could not have imagined sitting here writing a blog for Prose or any other company out there. But since the release of my book, “How I Gained My Vision by Losing It,” my life is different.
Two years ago all I was thinking was ‘How I am going to get through this? How am I going to cope without my eyesight?’
In the summer of 2013 my life was in a tailspin.
As my wife, Sarah, raced me across the Mohave desert through the night from San Diego California to Phoenix Arizona to get emergency surgery to repair my retina that had collapsed, all I could do was hold my head still.
