the wind rushed through her veins as she took her last breath
Standing, even when it hurts
to be on her own two feet.
flaming coals
burn from her toes
to the ends of her soul
She stands on the ledge
and cries for the things
she has worked for.
sweat and tears
are supposed to form
an ocean of opportunity.
Instead, they were wasted
and left her dehydrated
Her arms reach out beside her
She prays for someone to guide her
and realizes her words are in vain
lost in the space around her
lingering like a bad hangover.
Sadness sits heavy on her chest
she wonders, was this even worth it?
She looks down at the world below;
there's no such thing as "making it"
anymore.
The sounds of traffic yell out her name
asking her body and blood to come down
and let the earth swallow her remains.
Accepting the cold cement to be her grave
She looks up at the clouds in the sky
and wishes she could live on one, let it
embrace her and her fears.
she takes a breath
and jumps.
