shooting stars.

why are shooting stars

our symbol for dreams?

i've never been able

to decipher what they mean.

i dream and i wish

upon every shooting star

but it's more like a heartbreak

than a wish that goes far.

they're dangerous and fearing.

or atleast

that's what i think,

cause everytime i see one, i just wanna shrink.

see, they remind me of every

fallen hope i've had,

because i pray on the stars

yet nothing's ever happened.

if the stars represent

light and beauty,

then why would a falling star

represent hope?

shouldn't it be

destruction and ugliness?

i guess i just

don't understand.
