An Elegy for Who I Used to Be
Timid is the manner,
in which you speak.
The world roars too loudly,
how could you ever think?
You shrank yourself to fit a mold,
realizing too late it was never meant for you.
Your star burned,
fast and hot.
The explosion glorious,
faded colors filled the skies.
Destruction is the temple of your life,
you don't know why.
It just is.
Burdened to walk a tightrope,
gravity nips at your toes.
Head in the clouds,
never bound to earth.
The weight of life finally caught up,
resulting in the death of you, of me. of us.
Like a phoenix, we shall rise again.
