She was an ember
Glowing within the darkness
He breathed life into her with his kiss
She was a spark
Flickering like a firefly in the warm summer night
He was a child, trying to capture all her beauty in his hands
She was a flame
Dancing on the edges of unspoken words and broken promises
He was a breeze, fanning her to ignite her paper heart to ashes
She was a match
Trying to burn his memory from her soul
He was the rain, the tears that never set her free again
