I reached out my hand too late; and it felt as if something inside me had died that moment I saw them fall.

It felt as if I had been stabbed in the heart by a spear, and it crinkled like paper then shattered into a million peices like a window.

I sit, the glass peircing my inside as I stare forward in shock.

I let my outstretched arm fall to the ground next to my legs, and I could still feel my heart shattering like echos in a large cave.

That spear was peircing me still, and I still sat shocked as a dog that landed on all fours, choking on the cold air and my hands clenched the grass.
