A Love Poem to ... ‘you’
To our dismay, our disposal
gave up the ghost. A proposal:
We devised to get another.
So we did, good dad and mother.
Got it in, but still no function.
Then we checked the wiring junction.
All that time, it was just that. We
got new wiring. Now we are free.
But our grown son was hot to trot
For a cooker, a “new rice pot”.
He hankered for some better rice
that he proposed would be quite nice.
It took some time to get one, though.
Our plans fell through. So it was slow,
the process of rice cookery.
Now it’s arrived! We’re filled with glee.
So I am in a woeful state.
How can I pick? Appreciate
just ONE appliance, when they’re two.
I love them BOTH so much! Don’t you?
So now I’m glad when we discuss,
there are some words duplicitous.
The word 'you’ can be plural, see?
And that is why I love 'you’, ... Me.
