The Weeping of a War-wracked World

The world is old,

Her cherished children grown cold and cruel,

Bitter as they, one another in fury, strike,

By the firelight of war blinded,

Within the smog of sorrow choked,

The Mother of all cries her last,

Sheds her final flaming tear.
