can you resist nature?
physical scabs are a product of millions of years of evolution. the itch and annoy, and so you hold yourself from touching, picking it. knowing and dreading the scars . in the end, you absentmindedly scratch, either opening them up, or exposing a well-healed wound.
figurarively- scabs are a peoduct of millions of years of evolution. we have a coping mechanism, that jelps us slowly move past grief. unfortunately we do not have a way to erase the grief, and so it irritates and hurts, and the more you think about it, the more it hurts more. emotional 'itching' is as unavoidable as the physical one, and as hard to restrain or distract. eventually tbough, one day, you absentmindedly pick at a memory, pissibly while restraining from touching a real scab. the result will either be a painful reopening of the injury or a revelation that you are moved past grief.
