Challenge
What abyss fits you?
Gorge of Forgiveness
Holding my heart clutched in my hands
eyes gravitate downward to drink the abyss
the fear exhausts seesaw of my limbs
frozen cold feet blanch at the edge
struggle to back up but weak knees tremble
throwing me over the fissure of my past
skimming my skin of errors feels cleansing
leaving dregs to snag on edges of void
droplets of sanguine misery scatter with wind
impure thoughts, deeds fleck off and purge
both foibles and freckles leave my embrace
sponged by the scrubbing of pain I have caused
my body become a feather absolved of my sins
as I reach bottom of the gorge of forgiveness.
