Burn With Me
There once was a home here,
Where bodies & minds sparked and ignited,
Your white hot flames blazed exquisitely,
Relentlessly chased my blue fire
until we collided and unleashed a monster.
This is not the cordial bonfire I intended to build with you.
It's not the controlled blaze a Responsible Adult would build,
It's not the friendly campfire I wanted,
where we could've sat down and made some goddamn s'mores.
This is a wildfire,
Violent and Unruly.
Careless, carving its own path
incinerating everything it encounters,
leaving naught but ashes and memories.
This is a forest fire,
irreverent and predatory,
making kindling out of
millenniums of God's artwork.
It seems unfair at first
You and I escaping with only mercurial scars.
Looking behind us in horrified awe
at the murderous inferno
that is our love child.
It consumes, it feeds greedily.
It sees only its insatiable, incendiary hunger.
The house burns down,
The town goes next.
Soon the whole world is ablaze.
That bad, bad baby.
Eventually there is nothing left to burn
Our spurious offspring is finally full.
If people are left, I don't see them,
I see YOU
and Only You.
It's ALWAYS You.
Motherfucker.
Is it because your scars match mine?
What should theoretically clash
in a brutal battle to the death,
Instead finds peace and tranquility
in each other's arms.
Damn You.
Then a lick of your flame touches mine.
Peace and Tranquility are chased away
by Awakening Passion.
Then our fires are chasing each other again.
Before you know it, our latest bastard child
is destroying the freshly rebuilt world.
Another Riotous Blaze of Glory.
This is our love and our destiny.
Burn with me eternally.
