The Phone Call
Every relationship should have humor embedded. Without it, the relationship cannot survive the difficulties life pits us against.
The following, at least in my mind, has that sense of humor between both friends and lovers.
This is an excerpt from a novel I have written. Part Ten: book Five - Ending Evil.

“This is Patrick. How may I help you?”
“You can start by saying yes, I’d love to go out to dinner with you tonight.”
Patrick smiled.
“But it’s too cold to go out.”
“It’ll do us good. Have a nice quiet dinner, some music, conversation; then we come home, snuggle under the covers, and play Roy Rogers and Trigger.”
Patrick laughed.
“Oh my! Hi-Yo, Silver!”
“That was the Lone Ranger, Patrick.”
“Like it really matters. What time?’
“Stay there and I’ll pick you up about five.”
“Okay. See you then. Love you.”
