Peepers sing
When Winter comes,
peepers tuck beneath the bark,
of naked sleeping trees.
Hiding, from the
snappy winds,
Silently,
they wait.
Coyotes howl
Owls screech
Untamed lullabies echo
by the light of the shivery moon.
Snow blankets mossy beds,
The forest remains asleep.
Spring thaws
nighttime crescendo begins,
The choir
wakes the forest.
The song
of the peepers
calls-
flowers to bloom,
And the Robins home.
This nighttime song;
It's how I know it's Spring.
