Challenge
Spelling Test #5
This is the fifth in a series of challenges designed to use a list of spelling test words. This one will be a bit easier than the last one, I'm looking at words from grade 3. Use them in a poem or a piece of prose. This is your list of 20 words: butter, clown, horse, gift, heavy, cheese, boxes, build, laugh, shopping , sky, prize, thick, voice, together, warm, string, young, afraid, caught. Good luck.
The night was young, but the air was heavy, thick with guilt and shame. He would play the clown. Butter her up. A voice, tense, afraid of being caught. The build up. Her laugh. The prize. Together they would string stars across the sky. Build together.
Window shopping. Boxes of cheese.
And you. Directly looking a gift horse in the mouth. Because you’re not buying what he’s selling.
