The Universe And I
You claim to love the stars, though never immerse yourself in their light because you are afraid of the world's hatred. My dear, you roll over and bury your beautiful face in that same pillow day after day not knowing the stars tear apart ceilings every night just to reveal themselves to those whose hearts shine as bright as they do. As for me, the grass is always greener on whichever side you are on. The only thing holding me back from visiting an ocean and letting its tides sweep me away in hope of reaching your shore is the possibility I may drown or end up somewhere else, causing the absence of my shoulder to become the reason your tears touch the floor. What I want you to never forget is that in spite of the cold my arms cannot shake off or the dark my eyes cannot brighten, the universe and I both love you from afar.
