Chapter One Cafe

Lillian went to a small cafe in her town. Lilly entered the cafe and she saw somebody sitting in the corner crying at one of the tables. Lillian ordered her coffee and a croissant.

“Hey can I sit here?” Lillian asked the person crying

“Y-yea you c-can” the crying person stuttered. “I’m Olivia and my pronouns are they/them by the way,” Olivia said.

“Thanks, my name is Lillian or Lilly for short and my pronouns are she/her” Lilly said excited to be sitting with somebody since she normally sits alone in the cafe.

“What's wrong?” Lilly asked Olivia concerned about why she is crying

“My boyfriend just dumped me for being bisexual and non-binary” Olivia said tearing up again

“Well it’s okay to be bisexual and to be non-binary it’s completely fine. And well for your boyfriend he just lost complete beauty. And some boys are just assholes.” Lilly said, trying to reassure Olivia over their ex.

Lillian grabbed her croissant and ripped it in half and gave one of the pieces of the croissant to Olivia.

“Here take this” Lillian said, giving them half of a croissant.

“Thanks Lilly,” Olivia said, smiling at Lilly.

“Yea no problem” Lilly said

The rest of the time you two sat with each other it was silence but it was comfortable silence and not the awkward uncomfortable silence. When Olvia got up to leave she ripped a piece of the napkin off and took a pen out of her bag and started to write something on it.

“Here is my number if you ever wanted to call me or anything” Olivia told Lilly smiling

“Oh Thanks! Ummmmm do you want mine?” Lilly asked her. She started to feel butterflies in her stomach and get a bit nervous

“Uhh sure! Here is my pen” Olivia said handing her the pen

You ripped off another piece of the napkin and wrote your phone number on it.

“ Here is my number Olivia” Lilly said handing her the napkin Lilly put her number on alongside the pen too.

“Bye” Olivia said waving her goodbye

Lilly waved back without saying anything back to her. Lilly watches Olivia leave and walk past the windows. Lilly turns back around in her seat questioning why she got nervous when Olivia gave Lilly their number when they just pretty much met less than 20 minutes ago.
