the wilder places in the world
untamed raw is wild
as it was, its always been,
is what all saw, have seen and remember
that cannot should not be stored or confined
in a package or by fence,
only to the eye restrained by memory
untamed raw is the way you left it
and the way it should forever be
bold, without handles and best left untamed
no synthetics, like plastic or paper
or bound pretentious hearts
untamed raw is wild
like a stallion horse, free flowing mane
running in fast motion, nostrils flaring
hard hoofs striking, sparking flashes
in the hard rock, in open nature
wild raw as it was, its always been,
is what you see in faraway lands hard to reach
before it was ever seen, untouched by change
unmoved by meddling man of industry
no highways, no fast food,
no human touch those corrupted places
of barbed or razor wire and sulfuric belches of gas
global warming strains and stains
like mountains, rivers and trees
pristine pretty pure
just there like they've ever been in the midst of raw
what only birds and bears and wolves ever saw
unmoved by clouds, unchanged by steel, or human claws
wild is the wilder, the most wild,
like as in the suffix ness, most full of
to the extreme degree, only the natural
the things that lay as they lay,
as they've always lain
natural things in nature that erupted
far away and flowed, hot then cooled
things of the earth, its molten liquid lava rock
its substance formed long, long ago
solidified to things in the wild, the wilder ness
for trees and rivers and mountains
for wolves and bears and birds that sprung
with the wild non-living things, being wild too
things in the free under the clouds
things in places for you and me to go to
to reach for, to grow with and preserve our sanity
