Five Friends Friday
Five Friends Friday is where we share a Prose piece with five people of our choosing through social media, word of mouth, emails or however we fancy.
This is to spread the word of what we think should be shared from Prose as well as the community itself.
This week it is the turn of Prose’s Marketing and Media Director @Sammie who steps up to the plate and knocks it out of the park with a doozy. She tells us:
"My Five Friend Friday share this week is "Most traumatic event I have ever witnessed or endured" by Letters From Prison contributor @NicWit. Going into prison, talking and teaching the residents, is the most rewarding thing I have done in a long time. I came to realise that I would've judged these women if I hadn't have given them the time to tell me their stories like I have. Now I realise that many of the residents there are just people who have underlying causes and have been failed by the system. This initiative is helping these women further themselves, their confidence, reducing stress, depression, and anxiety.
Please, if you have any spare time at all and you'd like to get involved direct message me @sammielee46, or just head over there, read and comment. This share is the story of "NicWit" who found herself addicted to heroin after not being able to sleep following horrific domestic abuse. This drove her to crime to feed her addiction. Her story is a massive highlight of where the system fails many. NicWit needed love, care, and help. Not locking away. Cause and effect plays a massive part of her story. I implore you all to keep an eye on the Letters From Prison Portal and comment as much as you can. Thank you also to the Prosers who regularly offer their words of encouragement and support.
As always, if Prosers sharing your work is something you don’t want to happen, then please stop it by using the hashtag #dontshare on any pieces you post.
Other than that, we hope you are all joining in, sharing with five friends and more as long as the pieces don’t have the #dontshare hashtag on them.
We have a world of words that people should be reading and adding to. Let's share.
Yours,
Prose.
