People standing still
After the snow in the season of my death
I walked barefoot upon blades of grass
My feet burned with the blood of wisdom
As I watched the ghosts wander past my skin
Kicking up the dust of a thousand years
The film gelled to my soul creating a cast
Nothing was the same ever since that day
Strangers still smiled at my black eyes
They spoke of life and love and lies of hope
Told to themselves for themselves to feel [permanence]
Years passed and the ghosts blended into rum
Lives into fractions of bone and fragile skin
My feet sore and calloused I walk still
In a world that will always forget
before it remembers
