inevitably my greatest influence would be Chinese fiction, Japanese poetry and Sanskrit sacred texts, we had a considerable amount of these lying around the house growing up and they stuck with me, in translation and as direct transcription of original characters. As a visual artist, the graphic is a joy as you can see above in the very word "writing." Everything hanging so precariously on line, in ancient Sanskrit. The structure of Chinese not possible to share well here on the app, equally gives the eye an intricate flow to follow. Additionally, each character carrying multiple meanings... to me only translations are accessible, i regret... A read of a read... in the vast fields of thinking. Others have tackled this bridge. The fat tattered text "Our Oriental Heritage," looms lavishly in memory as sitting side by side the Holy Bible in the center of the most revered Kitchen Table.
Snippets of these translations have stuck in my memory more so than many things, more current and originally in native English.
Doubtlessly, that is why my moniker is 7v7 and my resultant writes so cryptic in effect.
A poem by Matsuo Bashō held dear to my heart, i share here translated from the Japanese:
Sitting quietly, doing Nothing
. . . spring comes . . .
And the grass grows by Itself.
