Pillars

The world tears you down, a storm of words and thoughts and whirlwinds and whirlpools, all coalescing around your feet.

The wind screams, the ground shakes, the fire in your heart is flickering, your resolve tested by that betrayal that shouldn't have stung but it does, by that test in the distance, that train moving far too quickly, too fast to stop, to dodge out of the way

A person

A friendly face

A hand outstretched into the storm

And you know things will be ok after all.
