One Nation

I don’t pledge allegiance to the flag anymore

Maybe I’m an anarchist

Maybe I’m not patriotic enough

Or maybe I just don’t recognize the country I live in as my own anymore

Politicians have always been, and will always be corrupt

It’s practically in the job description

Corruption is not, by its nature, a bad thing

Sometimes it just means protecting the American people from themselves

But when the political class can wave around their corruption

Flagrantly, like some kind of dick measuring contest

And the American people sit back, doing nothing, being careless

Then what the fuck is left to salute?
