Acquiesce
This game is dangerous,
all in our minds,
we laugh so hard,
and at times we cry.
We all know the cost,
yet we march ahead still,
just trying to navigate this world,
is our jagged little pill
Life is really as simple,
as you allow it to be,
I wasn't born yesterday,
of course, there's no us I see.
I'm not wet behind the ears,
I've been round this block before,
My eyes are always open,
for I know the score.
I'm an impalpable ghost,
yet I'm here all the same,
I'll always be around,
you only need to call out my name.
I see right through,
this charade that you've made,
please be careful,
I don't want you to suffer the same,
Loneliness is born,
by our own hands,
keep playing your game,
and you'll never find a good man.
I read between the lines,
I see into your soul,
I know what I know,
and I feel what you stole.
I'll head on back to the shadows,
I'm content there and all,
remember when you need me,
you only need to call.
