1st Amendment

Kamala Harris has picked a Vice-Presidential running mate. The guy's name is Tim Walz and he is the governor of Minnesota. I saw a video where he said that the 1st Amendment didn't cover what he called misinformation. What that means is that your free speech rights under the constitution are only valid if you are saying something that's true and just to be clear, if you say anything against the current government narrative, you are lying and spreading disinformation.

So, the question in my mind is, Does Tim Walz really believe that or is he being stupid on purpose, and do we really want to live in a world where the government narrative is the only truth?

I kind of feel like we are living in a futuristic dystopian novel.
