Color Blind
Did I ever tell you I was color blind?
It's hard for me differentiate between shades and hues
Reds are just reds and yellows are just yellows
Oranges and purples and greens and blues
All the colors just look so simple to me
Except when I'm thinking about you
I see scarlet and cerulean and dandelion
I see maroon and periwinkle and teal
Life is breathed into once lifeless colors
To see you is only trumped by the ability to feel
Your skin under my fingers as I hold you
I press my lips on yours to seal the deal
It was never just a black and white world
But the colors were never as vibrant to me
Now I am surrounded by the depths of the world
I can experience to universe as it is meant to be
I know what life feels like to actually live it
I know what it's like to actually see
