AI Writing Observation

My friend was listening to ChatGPT read a part of my book to him. When it finished the chapter, it asked if he wanted more and he said yes, thinking there was more written, but ChatGPT just started making up its own continuation of the story. He read to me what it wrote. It got characters and events right for the most part (though the timing was way off from the actual book), but was very dry with little to no characterization. It took him a little while but he soon figured out that the last part wasn’t my writing. Very interesting but scary at the same time. A fun little exercise, though. Either way I feel validated that my writing is better than an AI program’s writing.
