A Brief Moment Of Self Reflection
faint white line,
decorating my skin,
where did you come from?
i have no recollection of you.
maybe you’re an angry scratch
from an unsuspecting cat,
a kitchen casualty,
perhaps you were lonely.
finding solace in a stranger
hoping to hide
away. go unnoticed.
or, maybe, you just
appeared one day.
snaking under my epidermis;
out of reach.
snuggling next to my veins
and huddling for warmth.
