The Unfinished Poem
A little boy lies in bed so scared of the dark
The shadow of a monster a mere tree in the park
He shivers and cries and hides to no end
Soon the sun comes up it was all just pretend
As simple of a lesson this appears to his life
This lesson is more of an all purpose knife
It appeared once again as 6th grade began
All these big words with no open hand
Wishing he could just sail out to sea
Not knowing these monsters were masking insecurity
Much weaker than him they only did wrong
An everyday battle for him to stay strong
Covered with deep cuts that couldn't be stitched
To just be free is all this boy wished
People are faced with these challenges everyday. Some move forward, others fall victim to the darkness. Be kind, and bring positivity to the world. Life will go in finish your book, finish your poem, finish your sentence.
