The Smile
He smiled but it didn't seem to touch his eyes. Behind the smile was a man who was deeply troubled. Stress was piling up and his heart was pumping on overdrive to compensate. Work hadn't paid him and the bills had piled up. His client was a handful and the parent was a bigger one. Driving down US 41 the client would slap the man and try to switch the car over to neutral while making explosion sounds in the man's ear. The man was forced to take the client home due to the behavior and as he told the mother she told him if he couldn't take care of the behaviors he could find another job. The man explained he wasn't a behavior therapist and wasn't trained to get rid of these behaviors. She told him she didn't think he was a good for then. As the man said his farewells he smiled but inside he was screaming.
